Removal of Teeth

is one of the most common procedures referred to an oral surgeon due to their extensive experience performing the surgery on a daily basis.

There are many reasons why teeth need to be removed including:

  • severe decay

  • periodontal or gum disease

  • infection

  • failed restoration

  • damage or fracture

  • spacing or orthodontic issues

  • poor positioning in the arch

Prior to starting an extraction procedure, Dr. Robinson performs a thorough examination in addition to discussing all surgical and anesthetic treatment options.

Special Considerations

When treatment planning for tooth removal, replacement options are not only considered but often times recommended.

Dr. Robinson will utilize special surgical technique to remove the tooth while preserving the surrounding bone. Even when the bone is preserved with an atraumatic extraction, the surgical site often requires grafting to facilitate ideal placement of a dental implant.
